Tones of Beauty 2026, London Excel: The Event the Industry Should Get Behind
I was a little ambitious with this one. I flew back from the Las Vegas International Beauty Show the night before and arrived at Tones of Beauty on jet lag and very little sleep. Not my best recovery plan.
But an event is worth attending as long as I take away at least one moment that will impact me. This one gave me those moments in bucket loads.
Why this event matters
I love the concept of Tones of Beauty. Inclusion should be happening naturally. Every event, every brand, every space in this industry should already be somewhere everyone feels seen, welcomed and included, without anyone having to create it.
Walk into Tones of Beauty and look at the sheer volume and diversity of people in that room and it is clear that isn't yet the case. Too many people in our industry still don't feel seen, welcomed or included in mainstream spaces, and every event organiser should be asking themselves why.
Who I met
So many different people, with so many different experiences, stories and views. I met the most amazing trailblazers creating new brands and concepts, many of them so young, and I felt proud of every single one of them.
The show floor
This year's show looked beautiful. Perfume stands dominate the floor, and while there are a lot of them, they are stunning and they bring an expensive feel to the whole space.
I spoke to a lot of people across the two days and the feedback was pretty consistent. Too many perfume stands, the talks are great, and the event has real potential. I agree with all of it. The talks are excellent and it is a full line up across both days.
For the event to work long term and attract the salon side of the industry, we need to see more big brands get on board. The team behind Tones of Beauty are listening to feedback. They want this to be an inclusive, all welcome space, and they are working towards it.
What happens next
I would love to see more brands get behind this event. The industry should support it and help build the inclusive space it already should be.
I absolutely loved it, and I'm looking forward to seeing how this event grows over the years. I'll be back.
