Callus Removal

Callus removal is the professional reduction of hard, thickened skin (callus) that builds up on the feet, usually on the sole, heel or ball of the foot. Callus forms as the skin's natural protective response to repeated pressure and friction, often from footwear, foot shape or the way you walk. A podiatrist, chiropodist or foot health practitioner uses a sterile blade to carefully pare away the excess hard skin (known as sharp debridement), leaving the skin smoother and more comfortable to stand and walk on.
