The Scratch Stars awards
My First Time at the Scratch Stars Awards – And Why I’ll Be Back
This year was my first time entering the Scratch Stars Awards, and to be completely honest I didn’t expect to become a finalist. So to be shortlisted for Salon of the Year and Services to the Industry was a massive moment for me.
The night itself? Absolutely loved it.
Not Just Another Awards Night
What struck me most was how relaxed and welcoming the event felt. No awkward silences or stiff formalities, just a room full of people who genuinely love what they do, catching up like old friends. It felt like a proper community moment
And it was packed with talent.
You could feel the pride in the room, not just from the winners, but from everyone there to celebrate the very best in the UK nail industry. These are professionals who care about their craft, and it showed.
A Judging Process That Actually Meant Something
I really respected the way this event handled judging. It wasn’t a popularity contest. It was transparent, skills-focused, and led by credible, experienced judges who knew exactly what they were looking for. It wasn’t easy to get through and that’s exactly how it should be.
I didn’t go in expecting to win. I know the level of competition in this industry is fierce. And honestly? The right people won. Massive congratulations to every single winner, it was so well deserved.
Final Thoughts
Would I enter again? 100%.
This event wasn’t just a personal milestone it reminded me how much skill, creativity, and drive exists in the nail industry. It was a joy to be in that room, and I’m already looking forward to seeing what next year brings.
