Pre-care Advice

  • Let hair grow to at least 5mm (about two to three weeks of growth).
  • Exfoliate gently a day or two before; avoid moisturiser or oil on the day.
  • Avoid sunbathing beforehand and mention any skin sensitivities or medication.

After-care Advice

  • Avoid heat, swimming, sunbeds and intense exercise for 24–48 hours.
  • Wear loose, breathable clothing.
  • Exfoliate gently after a few days to help prevent ingrown hairs.

Downtime & Recovery

Minimal downtime — temporary redness and sensitivity are normal and usually settle within a few hours.

Side Effects & Risks

Short-lived redness, tenderness or small bumps are common and settle quickly. Ingrown hairs are minimised with good aftercare; a patch test can be arranged for sensitive skin.
