More than a badge
A business does not become HABD Verified simply by joining The Hair & Beauty Directory. Verification is separately assessed and can be refused. We look at the evidence behind the business and the wider professional standards we are prepared to put the HABD name behind.
Documents are only part of the assessment.
nsurance and qualifications matter, but they do not tell the whole story. HABD may also review a business's website, booking presence, pricing, social media, reviews, visible professional work, client information, advertising claims and wider public reputation.
We are not looking for the fanciest website, the biggest social following or the highest prices. We are looking for a professional business whose overall activity is consistent with the standards represented by HABD Verified.
Exceptionally low pricing, misleading claims, concerning review patterns or other professional-standard concerns may trigger further assessment.

A HABD Verified Business does not automatically mean HABD has individually checked every member of staff, every treatment, every qualification, every product or every course connected with that business.
Where an individual professional or additional credential has undergone separate HABD verification, we show it separately on the live verification record.

How HABD Verification works.
Join or sign in to HABD
Membership gives access to the verification process.
Upload your evidence from your profile.
Go to your member dashboard, open your profile and upload your insurance and core qualification. The verification request is triggered from there.
HABD assessment.
We check the submitted evidence and carry out the Professional Standards Assessment.
Decision
We approve, request further information, place the application under further review or decline it.
Live verification
Approved businesses receive a unique HABD verification number and public live record.
Ongoing status
Verification is reviewed annually and can be reopened if important information changes or a serious concern is raised.
