How it began
This wasn’t built from the outside. It was built from inside the industry.
After years of seeing the same problems, a lack of structure, a lack of trust, and professionals not being seen properly, it became clear something needed to change.
Clients were struggling to know who to trust.
Professionals were struggling to stand out.
So we built something to fix it.
About the
founder
The Hair & Beauty Directory was created by Helen Ward, a salon owner with nearly 30 years in the industry.
After building and running a busy city centre salon, winning over 40 awards, and teaching for years, one thing became really clear, being good at what you do isn’t enough anymore.
There are too many good businesses not being seen properly, and too many clients struggling to work out who they can actually trust.
At the same time, the industry has become crowded, inconsistent, and hard to navigate. There’s no real structure to it.
This came from living that every day.
Running a business, trying to stay visible, and seeing the same frustrations come up again and again.
The idea was to build something that actually makes it easier for professionals to be understood, and for clients to make confident decisions.
