Kirsten Steward

Kirsten Steward began her career in 1988, qualifying with City & Guilds Beauty Therapy and Electrical Epilation, alongside an International Health & Beauty Council Diploma in Beauty Therapy and Electrical Epilation. She was among only a small cohort trained nationally at a time when beauty therapy was a highly competitive and academically rigorous profession.\n\nOn qualifying, Kirsten joined Glemby International, working within Eaden Lilly's department store in Cambridge, gaining broad experience in a prestigious retail salon environment. In 1989 she founded Kirsten's Beauty Rooms, her first independent salon, based above Strands Hair Salon in Victoria Street, Cambridge.\n\nShe was among the first practitioners in the UK to train with Dermalogica when it launched in this country, and also worked for Dermalogica presenting at open days for new accounts. In the early 1990s she relocated to the outskirts of Cambridge before moving to Chatteris High Street in 1992, where she was the first beauty salon in the town.\n\nDuring the early 1990s Kirsten also taught Beauty Therapy part time at Cambridge Regional College, having gained her City & Guilds 730 teaching certificate.\n\nIn 1999 (approximately 25 years prior to the website copy, written around 2024) she made her final move to purpose-built salon rooms adjacent to her home. In 2017 she extended the salon to include a separate entrance, toilet facilities and a waiting and retail area.\n\nFrom 2018 onwards Kirsten undertook significant additional study in skin science, completing her OFQUAL Level 4 Diploma in Aesthetic Practice (covering microneedling, skin peeling and blemish removal) and OFQUAL Level 5 in Clinical Skin Science for non-surgical skin procedures, both in 2021. She also undertook a course in the gut microbiome in 2020.\n\nIn 2024 she rebranded her product offering around the Circadia skincare range and entered The Skin Games 2024/25, an international skin treatment competition held in Atlanta.
