WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 runs from 22 to 27 September 2026 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai, China, staging the 48th WorldSkills Competition. Among dozens of skill categories spanning industry and technology, Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy sit within the Social and Personal Services group, bringing young hairdressers and beauty therapists from around the world together to compete for medals on a global stage in front of thousands of visitors.

Competitors qualify to take part through their national WorldSkills member organisation, each of which manages its own selection process for team representatives. Most skill categories, including Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy, require competitors to be under 22 in the competition year, reflecting WorldSkills' focus on showcasing emerging talent in technical and vocational education across the participating member countries.

Alongside the Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy competitions, the six-day event includes an opening ceremony, a full competition schedule across 23 to 26 September, and a closing ceremony on 27 September. About The Organiser

WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 is organised by WorldSkills International together with the Shanghai WorldSkills Executive Bureau, under China's Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government. It is the 48th edition of the WorldSkills Competition, held every two years in a different host city.
