Who it's for
Anyone wanting smooth skin and longer-lasting results than shaving, with softer regrowth and fewer ingrown hairs over time. Suitable for most skin types.
Expected results
Skin is left smooth straight away, and with regular waxing hair grows back finer and sparser. Results typically last three to four weeks depending on the area.
Pre-care and after-care
Pre-care advice
Let the hair grow to at least a quarter of an inch. Avoid sunbathing, hot baths and exfoliating on the day, and tell Jane if you use retinoids or other skin treatments.
After-care advice
Avoid heat, hot baths, saunas, swimming, exercise and tight clothing for 24 to 48 hours. Exfoliate gently after a couple of days to help prevent ingrown hairs, and keep skin moisturised.
There is no downtime; simply avoid heat and friction on the area for 24 to 48 hours.
Safety, risks and contraindications
Contraindications
Waxing may not be suitable over broken or irritated skin, sunburn, or with certain skin treatments such as retinoids. Suitability is checked beforehand.
Side effects and risks
Some redness, warmth or small bumps just after waxing are normal and settle within a few hours.
