Pre-care and after-care
Pre-care advice
Avoid retinoids, acids and sun exposure for a few days before. Arrive with clean skin free of make-up, and tell us about any medication, skin conditions or recent treatments.
After-care advice
Keep skin clean, hydrated and protected with SPF, and avoid make-up, heat, exercise and active ingredients for 24 to 48 hours while the skin settles.
Expect 24 to 48 hours of redness, after which most people return to normal, with skin renewing over the following days.
Safety, risks and contraindications
Contraindications
May not be suitable during pregnancy, over active acne or infections, with certain skin conditions or medication such as roaccutane. A consultation confirms suitability.
Side effects and risks
Redness and a warm, tight feeling similar to mild sunburn are normal for a day or two, with possible light flaking as the skin renews.
