Paraffin Wax Treatment
Paraffin wax treatment is a warm, soothing therapy in which the hands or feet (and occasionally elbows) are dipped repeatedly into a bath of melted cosmetic paraffin wax to build up a snug, insulating layer. The area is then wrapped and left to rest for around 15 to 20 minutes so the gentle heat can settle in, before the wax is peeled away. The wax works partly as a rich emollient and partly as a mild form of heat therapy: as it cools it traps warmth against the skin, encouraging circulation, softening the surface and helping locked-in moisturiser to absorb.
