Chinese Cupping
Chinese cupping is a traditional complementary therapy in which cups are placed on the skin and a vacuum is created inside them, either with a hand pump, a rubber squeeze bulb or, in the traditional fire-cupping method, by briefly warming the air inside a glass cup. The suction draws the skin and underlying tissue gently upward into the cup. Cups may be left in one place (static cupping) or, with a little oil, glided across the skin (moving or sliding cupping), and are often used across the back, shoulders and other fleshy areas; facial cupping uses smaller, gentler cups.
