Semi-Permanent Make-Up
Semi-permanent make-up (also called permanent cosmetics, micropigmentation or cosmetic tattooing) implants small amounts of pigment into the upper layers of the skin to mimic the look of make-up. Popular treatments include eyebrows (microblading, ombre or powder brows), eyeliner and lip blush. Because the pigment is placed in the skin with fine needles or a blade, it is a form of tattooing rather than a topical cosmetic, and it needs the same care over hygiene and technique. Results are not truly permanent: colour softens and fades over time, so most looks are refreshed periodically.
