High Frequency
High frequency is a long-established beauty therapy treatment that uses a glass electrode filled with an inert gas, usually argon (which glows violet) or neon (which glows orange). When the electrode passes over the skin it carries a gentle, rapidly alternating low electrical current and produces a small amount of ozone. It is most often used as a finishing step within a facial, particularly for skin that is oily, congested or prone to breakouts, because the ozone has a mild purifying effect and the current is said to encourage circulation. There are two common methods.
