Balayage
Balayage is a freehand hair-colouring technique in which lightener is hand-painted onto the surface of the hair, usually without foils, to create a soft, sun-kissed, graduated effect. The word comes from the French for "to sweep", which describes how the colourist sweeps product through chosen sections, keeping the roots deeper and building brightness towards the mid-lengths and ends.
