About This Course
Our HIV Awareness Course helps hair and beauty professionals understand HIV, challenge stigma and treat every client safely and confidently. Delivered by Sam Marshall, it covers the facts about transmission, up-to-date knowledge including U=U (undetectable equals untransmittable), and how to create a welcoming, inclusive and confidential service for clients living with HIV.
Learning Outcome
You will leave understanding how HIV is and is not transmitted, current treatment and the meaning of U=U, correct hygiene and universal precautions, how to avoid discrimination, and how to make your business genuinely HIV-inclusive.
Entry Requirements
This course is open to all hair, beauty and aesthetics professionals and students. No prior knowledge is required.
Training Centre
Follow-up Care
You receive a certificate of completion to demonstrate your HIV awareness and inclusive practice. Ongoing guidance is available from Sam, and the training pairs well with our Trans Awareness Course.
Additional Information
The course can be delivered in person or arranged for groups and salon teams who want everyone trained. It supports an HIV-inclusive policy and reflects Sam’s specialism in inclusion.
