Who It's For

Suitable for adults who experience frequent tension-type headaches or migraines, especially where jaw clenching, grinding or muscle tension play a part. A full medical assessment confirms suitability, and treatment is only recommended where it is genuinely appropriate.

Expected Results

Many suitable patients experience a reduction in the frequency and intensity of their headaches. Benefits typically build over 1–2 weeks and last approximately 3 months, after which treatment can be repeated to maintain results.

Pre-care Advice

Avoid alcohol for 24 hours beforehand and, where medically appropriate, blood-thinning medicines and supplements to reduce bruising. Bring details of your headache history, triggers and any medications to your consultation.

After-care Advice

Stay upright for 4 hours and avoid rubbing the treated areas. Avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol and saunas for 24 hours. Keep a headache diary as advised so your response can be reviewed, and follow the aftercare Dr Helen provides.

Downtime & Recovery

Minimal downtime — most clients return to normal activities immediately, following simple aftercare for the first 24 hours.

Contraindications

Please Read Carefully Before Booking This Treatment.

Not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for those with certain neuromuscular conditions or a known allergy to botulinum toxin. New, severe or changing headaches should be assessed by your GP first; suitability is confirmed at medical consultation.

Side Effects & Risks

Temporary tenderness, minor bruising or a mild short-lived headache at the time of treatment can occur. Less commonly, temporary muscle weakness in the treated area may occur; all risks are discussed at consultation.
