About Maria
I'm Maria Bourne and I qualified as a Nail Technician and Beautician in 2008 and BOURNE BEAUTY commenced trading in April 2016.
My business started in a small room inside a hairdressers one day a week.
I quit my full time job in 2016 to pursue a full-time career in nails and beauty.
In October 2017 I left the hairdressers and constructed a log cabin in my back garden which I opened up as a nail and salon in December 2017.
In November 2025 I relocated to a small shop in my village - this was one of my goals to do within 10 years of trading!
I am a fully qualified and insured. I hold Level 3 Qualifications in Nail Technology, Beauty Therapy and Make-Up Artistry.
I offer a bespoke 1:2:1 service for all of my Client's meaning that all appointments are comfortable, professional and private.
My business has gone from strength to strength and I am now a qualified Educator and Assessor.
I hold a Level 3 Award In Education and Training, and a Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement.
I now offer ABT Accredited in person 1:2:1 Training and Education in Nails and Beauty as well as online ABT Accredited Courses and Nail Art Workshops.
I have entered numerous Nail Art Competitions making me a multi international award winning Nail Artist.
My biggest achievement to date is being placed 21st in the UK for The Best Nail Salon 2024 and Best Gel Polish 2025.

Work Experience
Maria Bourne is a qualified Nail Technician, Beauty Therapist and Educator who began her career in 2008 and opened Bourne Beauty in 2016. She holds Level 3 Nail Technology, Level 3 Beauty Therapy and Level 3 Make-Up Artistry, along with a Level 3 Award in Education and Training and a Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement. From her purpose-built studio in Derbyshire she delivers 1:2:1 ABT-accredited nail and beauty training to students across Derbyshire and the UK.
