The Skin Games 2026, Dallas: From Player to Judge
I've been attending The Skin Games since 2019 as a player. This year I was coming back as a skin judge, and I have to say it was a lot of hard work. Credit to all the skin judges, because a lot of hours and effort go into this before the event even starts. It was also very interesting, and great to see the hard work, commitment and knowledge that goes in from the players.
What The Skin Games is
For anyone who hasn't come across it, The Skin Games is an international competition and awards event for skin professionals. Players enter case studies in categories such as acne, pigmentation, age management and compromised skin, documenting real client results over a set period, and a panel of judges from across the industry scores the work. The live event brings players, judges, educators and brands together for talks, trade stands and the awards night, and placing in it is seen as a real mark of distinction in skin.
Dallas
This year's event was held in Dallas, which I loved! I travelled with the fabulous Aggie and Reda, who as always were lots of fun. After a long flight we headed out for a very authentic BBQ, and I am very sad to leave Texas food behind. The venue was great, spacious, and right over the road from a great Mexican.
I love The Skin Games energy and people. It's just a great few days spending time with like minded, fun and kind people. I held a talk on visibility on day one and got to meet some new faces and people I had only ever spoken to online.
Friday was a day packed with judging and meeting the players, and what an inspiring bunch they were. Then we went to the rodeo. Imagine working all day then heading off to see cowboys. Truly living the dream.
Saturday was a mixed day of talks, checking out the trade stands, and I spent a few hours exploring Texas. The awards night was another fun event, but I had been really struggling with jet lag on this visit, so I was shattered and with an early flight to Miami the next day I headed to bed early.
Why I keep going back
The Skin Games always leaves me with special memories and great new friends. Every year I meet another person who becomes another important connection in my life, and it's hard to explain how spending a few days with like minded people leaves you feeling.
I'm looking forward to dusting off my cowboy boots and hat ready for next year.
